Pakistan has decided to mourn mass killing in New Zealand by flying its national flag at half-mast across the country on Monday to express solidarity with the victims of mass shooting at two mosques in New Zealand.
“Government of Pakistan has decided that National Flag of Pakistan should be flown at half-mast across the country on Monday, 18th March 2019, in reverence of the martyred and injured in New Zealand mass shooting of 15th March 2019. Government and people of Pakistan stand united and extend solidarity to the grieved families, in a recent gruesome terrorist incident that took place at two mosques in Christchurch New Zealand” said a notification of Ministry of Interior on Sunday.
Moreover, the officers Incharge of all official / government buildings that have the national flag have been directed to ensure compliance of the government decision.
In mass killing incident in New Zealand has left the world in a state of shock. An armed man opened fire in two different mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand and martyred at least 50 people and left several other injured. There were also nine Pakistanis amongst others who were martyred in this massacre.
Meanwhile the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has announced to reward with a national award to Mian Naeem Rashid who gave up his own life to save others.
Naeem Rasheed a proud man of Pakistan was martyred along with his 21 years old son Talha Rashid as the result of terrorist activity at the mosque in Christchurch.
“We stand ready to extend all our support to the families of Pakistani victims of the terrorist attack in Christchurch. Pakistan is proud of Mian Naeem Rashid who was martyred trying to tackle the White Supremacist terrorist & his courage will be recognized with a national award,” the premier stated in a tweet.
Meanwhile Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri contacted Dr Khurshid Alim, the brother of Naeem Rashid and offered his deepest condolences with the grieved family. During his telephonic conversation with him the deputy speaker said that Pakistan is proud of the bravery of Naeem Rashid. Suri also demanded of the government to award Naeem Rashid with the national award on March 23, which is celebrated as in the country as ‘Pakistan Day.’
Naeem Rashid tried to stop the mastermind of this terrorism, Brenton Tarrant after he had entered the mosque. However, the terrorist opened fire on him and left him badly wounded and later he died due to severe injuries.
Naeem is now being praised globally for his heroic act of sheer bravery and resilience. Naeem Rashid belonged from Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and worked at a private bank before he had migrated to Christchurch, New Zealand.
The mastermind of this massacre went live on Facebook to film this mass killing and thousands of people witnessed this shocking incident. However when this terrorism was being committed, a Pakistani man Rashid tried to disarm this terrorist who then opened fire at him.
Meanwhile State Minister for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi along with Governor Sindh Imran Ismail paid visits in Karachi to the families of persons who got martyred in Christchurch, New Zealand. They offered condolences to the grieved families.
Moreover, former interior minister of Pakistan and chairman of Senate’s standing committee on Interior A Rehman Malik paid visit to the family of Haroon Mahmood who was also martyred in mass shootings in Christchurch in Islamabad.
He offered Fateha for martyred Mahmood and expressed his condolences for the grieved family. He also assured the grieved family that full support should be extended if the family want to bring dead body of Mahmood back home.
