Khadija Shah’s health deteriorates in jail: Staunch activist of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Khadija Shah’s health has deteriorated in Kot Lakhpat Jail where she is on judicial remand and facing criminal charges of attacking Jinnah House which was the residence of Corps Commander Lahore.
According to the sources in Kot Lakhpat Jail, Khadija Shah’s health has started deteriorating due to the jail’s environment which isn’t favorable to any member of the elite class.
Khadija Shah is member of the Pakistan elite class and the daughter of former Finance Minister Dr Salman Shah. She is married to an influential person who also belongs to the elite class.
Jail sources said that Khadija Shah is suffering from stomach pain for the past two days. She is in the jail on judicial remand till 30th.
It is pertinent to mention here that on May 24, the anti-terrorism court in Lahore had sent Khadija Shah to jail on 7-day judicial remand for an identification parade in the case of arson inside Jinnah House.
During her court appearance on Wednesday, Khadija Shah, who was kept in a van reserved for prisoners for two hours, complained that she was having trouble breathing, and was suffering from asthma.
It is again pertinent to mention here that she was wanted by the police in the case of attack on Corps Commander House in Lahore. The PTIs’ workers and supporters had targeted this house to protest against the arrest of former premier, Imran Khan on May 9.
According to sources privy to developments, Khadija Shah has been trying to avoid her arrest but finally she was arrested when no other option had been left for her.
In a video which is circulating on the social media, Khadija Shah is recording here video statement in which she is informing her targeted audience that she herself was raised in cantonment areas. In her video she is also condemning the tragic incidents which had taken after the arrest of the former premier.
Talat Hussain who is a renowned journalist in his tweet maintained that this is the lady’s (Khadija Shah) pre arrest video that some are trying to use to plead for her exemption from charges. “My argument is that this facility should be available to everyone if it is made available to he,” he maintained.
