Coronavirus Spread: APP Headquarters Sealed

Headquarters of Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) in Islamabad has been sealed on account of detecting an employees of it positive for coronavirus.
This step has been taken as precautionary measure to avoid further spread of the pandemic amongst APP’s employees.
The APP is a government-operated national news agency of Pakistan having its headquarters in Islamabad.
According to a circular issued by management of APP on April 24, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad while taking precautionary measures has sealed premises of APP Headquarters Islamabad from April 24 to April 27, 2020.
All employees of fixed duty hours will work from their home and remain constantly in touch with their concerned directors/managers/incharges.
All news section at APP, Islamabad shall remain out of bound for all editorial and associate staff from April 24 to April 27, 2020. The skeleton staff of reporters/sub-editors who were on rotation duty will now work from home, until further order, stated the circular.
It also maintained that the website up-gradation of regional services to remain suspended during the period. English and Urdu websites will be updated from off-site, further maintained the circular.
There are also reports of detection of coronavirus in some employees of a few private media houses. Journalists of Pakistan who were earlier financially struggling due to deepening recession in the media industry are now facing the issues related with spread of pandemic coronavirus.
