Uplift Work in Karachi Zoological & Botanical Garden Inspected

Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Syed Saif ur Rehman said all efforts are on to make the Karachi zoological and botanical garden (Karachi zoo) in accordance with the International standards, stated a press release on Sunday issued by Media Department of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).

Renovation and reconstruction work under Sindh government mega project was being carried out and expected to be completed by the end of the current fiscal year.

He expressed these views on a visit to the Karachi zoological and botanical gar along with concerned officers.

Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Syed Saif ur Rehman said works includes construction of two overhead tanks with 25 thousand gallon capacity and new toilets with 10 wash rooms for men and women.

Also food stalls are arranged in a sequence. The zoo also have bara daries for visitors and enclosures for big animals like zebra, zarrafa (giraffe) and neel cow (blue bull) and aquarium for people with sea creatures which will be named as Karachi ocean or Metropolitan Ocean Aquarium where big fishes will be available.

Metropolitan Commissioner said that tree plantation was also being done in the zoo, concluded the press release.
