A young girl, hardly 15-year-old, has been subjected to repeated sexual assaults by her real brothers within the jurisdiction of the capital city of Islamabad. The rapist brothers had asked their sister to keep quiet in the name of the holy book or else face the dire consequences. A doctor friend of her late father came to her rescue and reported the matter to the police.
According to the official of the Golra Police Station, the three brothers have confessed to their heinous crime, punishable by death under section 376 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). After registering a case, the police have arrested the three accused brothers and presented them in the court of law, where they have been sent to Adiala jail on judicial remand.
The medical test in this connection has already been done while police have deposited the samples of the medical test with the laboratory in Lahore for conducting DNA test. The report of DNA test would further ascertain their involvement in this heinous crime which is rare in nature and seems beyond imagination, keeping in view prevalent social and moral values.
An FIR has also been registered on the complaint of the girl Noreen (not his real name) and these three brothers have been booked under section 376 of PPC. If charges are proved in the court of law then the capital punishment may be awarded to these accused for committing this offense.
Another sad part of the story is that the parents of this teenager girl had passed away some time ago and she was dependent on her brothers for her well-being.
She got eight sibling, three sisters and five brothers and all of her sisters are married. She has been living with her brothers in a locality near Golra Railway Station. Two years ago, according to the registered FIR in the case, one of her brothers raped her, asking her not to disclose the matter to anyone otherwise he would kill her.
She kept quite over the matter because she was very much harassed. After the lapse of two weeks another brother when she was sleeping on rooftop raped her and he too threatened to kill her if she talked about this matter to anyone. Again another brother of her took her to some deserted place and raped her too. As she had no other shelter so she could not dare to share these incidents with anyone. She was never admitted to any school by her brothers to get education and she was forced to live with this trauma.
This is learnt that a friend of her late father when learnt about this matter asked her to register complaint at the police station.
According to a police official these accused also confessed before the court that they did this crime when the police had presented them before it to get their physical remand.
The girl in question has been sent to a shelter house on the order of the court.
