Rawalpindi
Civil Hospital Rawalpindi in general and especially its Emergency Ward clearly reflects the negligence of its medical staff with regard to dumping of generated medical waste properly at designated places.
This dilemma may lead to injuries to the visitors and may also cause spread of deadly diseases like HIV Aids.
Three dustbins have been placed in front of the emergency ward with advisory pasted on the wall as which sort of medical waste needs to be dropped where. However, instead to drop the medical waste at the proper dustbin, the staff carelessly throw it away and sometime also drop it on the floor of the emergency ward which is nothing else but real threat to the health of the visitors.
This negligence may also affect collection mechanism of this waste, if there is any, from the emergency ward.
The authorities’ concerned need to take action in this regard for the safety of masses. This is pertinent to mention here that hundreds of the visitors facing medical issues daily pay visit to Civil Hospital Rawalpindi and especially its emergency ward remains busy 24 hours of the day.
