NDMA issues warning of landsliding
Pak Chronicle Report
National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Monday issued a warning of landslide or avalanches in the country and advised the citizen to take precautionary measures to avoid any loss.
In a public service message today through some cellular phone providers it stated that there is danger of landslide and avalanches due to sunshine which may last for five days after heavy snowfall.
This is pertinent to mention here that severe winter weather has struck some parts of Pakistan with heavy snowfall and rains.
According to some media reports in Pakistan dozens of people have already been killed due to ongoing natural calamity.
These casualties resulted mainly due to roofs collapsed amid heavy snowfall. Heavy snowfall had forced closures of many highways in some part of the country. So far eleven people were killed in Punjab province, battered by heavy rains, and five others died in the AJK areas. The province of Balochistan is also facing severe challenges due to heavy snowfall and there are reports of deaths of several persons in the province.
