Mehwish Hayat’s medal controversy: Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat is in the limelight again but this time due to all the all wrong reasons as her Tamgha-e-Imtiaz or Medal of Excellence has been questioned by a veteran actor Haseeb Pasha.

Haseeb Pasha has said in a viral interview on Instagram that his Tamgha-e-Imtiaz was given to Mehwish Hayat.

Haseeb Pasha, who played the role of Hamon Jadoogar in Pakistan’s well-known drama Aynakwala Jin, said that he was told that the award which was supposed to be given to him, was given to actress Mehwish Hayat.

Answering the question about the honors received at the official level, he said that the former chairman of Alhamra, Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi, watched his drama Aynakwala Jin three to four times, when he was the chairman of Alhamra.

He said Qasmi had told him that what a great job he (actor) has done as an actor.

Pasha said, Qasmi was of the view that he (Pasha) is entitled to get pride of performance on his acting work.

He said that he was surprised to hear his words but at the same time he was very happy on such an appreciation.

He said it has been happening for many years that his name was recommended for the medal but it was removed from the list by the persons who were sitting in Islamabad.

He complained that that he was told that Mehwish Hayat, an actress who had appeared in drama serial was given his award instead to give it to him.

Haseeb Pasha said that there is no honor for a person who has been working for children for 40 years and instead an actress was given this honor because she gave a beautiful performance in this one serial.

He said that this award was given to a girl. “I don’t understand what type of persons are sitting in Islamabad who are removing my name,” he raised a question.

Meanwhile senior journalist Syed Talat Hussain on Friday while mentioning this story in his tweet stated: “These aren’t the elections alone whose results are engineered.”
