Ensuring Safety of Pakistanis in Wuhan Ordered

Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly has expressed concern over the outbreak of Coronavirus in Wuhan, China.

It directed that Ministry of Foreign Affairs Foreign Affairs may ensure the safety of all Pakistanis living in Wuhan besides also adopting remedial measures to negate the chances of Coronavirus in Pakistan, stated a press release issued on Tuesday.

The National Assembly’s panel maintained that it is being reported that Coronavirus is spreading rapidly from human to human like viral infection

The committee’s was held in Parliament House, Islamabad with Malik Muhammad Ehsan Ullah Tiwana, the Chairman in the chair.

The committee while endorsing all the budgetary proposals of M/o Foreign Affairs for the financial year 2020-21 directed that M/o Foreign Affairs may ensure the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan of austerity drive and initiate only those projects which are viable for the country.

 Earlier, representatives of M/o Foreign Affairs briefly apprised the committee about the utility of the proposed projects of Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the financial year 2020-21. It was informed that eight projects had been proposed with the total cost of Rs. 6,305.519 million for the next financial year.

The meeting was attended by Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, MNA, Zahra Wadood Fatemi, MNA and other lawmakers and officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
