Crime cases: Peshawar ranks highest amongst KP districts

District Peshawar ranked highest with regard to cases of crimes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) while District Kohistan ranked the lowest compared with other districts of the province in terms of crime cases during 2019.
Meanwhile a total of 178,131 crime cases were registered in KP last year, the National Assembly was informed on Friday during Question Hour by the Ministry of Interior.
MNA Moulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali had asked a question from the Minister for Interior to state the province-wise detail of crimes; and the name of district amongst Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts ranked highest in crimes along with the district of lowest crime rate.
Replying to this question the ministry told the parliamentarians of the Lower House of the Parliament that a total of 777,251 crime cases were registered in Pakistan in 2019.
They were told that during the mentioned period a total of 490,155 crime cases were registered in Punjab which is the population-wise largest province of Pakistan.
Meanwhile a total of 85,676 cases were registered in Sindh, 9,462 cases in Balochistan, 7,696 crime cases in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), 2031 case in GB and a total of 4,100 crime cases were registered in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) during 2019.
