Pakistan Railways has issued notification with regard to passengers who want to travel on trains and set Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for them.

Wearing of gloves and facemask is mandatory for trains’ passengers have been made mandatory.

In case of violation of these SOPs fine amounting to Rs500 may be imposed on negligent passengers.

These SOPs have been issued in the backdrop of spread of coronavirus in the country.

“It has been observed that passengers are not following SOPs received from Headquarters office Lahore.

A fine of amounting Rs500 may be imposed to the passengers who are not wearing gloves and masks and Rs1000 each in case of reparation of the same,” stated the notification. Ensure strict compliance, it further reads.

Pakistan Railways have issued these SOPs for the restoration of limited train operations in the country.

Currently 93,983 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Pakistan so far and a total of 32,581 patients have recovered from the pandemic. Moreover, it has caused 1935 deaths in the country so far.
