Garbage boxes can’t be replaced yet in Islamabad

Federal Government on Friday admitted that presently garbage boxes in certain sectors of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) are in pathetic condition as they already have outlived their life but they can’t be replaced yet because of ongoing financial restraints.
The National Assembly in Question Hour was informed by the Ministry of Interior that it is the fact that the garbage boxes placed in certain sectors including G-7/2 are dilapidated as the same were purchased in past and outlived their useful life. At present, the repair / replacement of these boxes / trolleys is not possible due to financial crunch. The funds have been demanded for the repair / replacement from Capital Development Authority (CDA). On provision of the funds the same shall be repaired / replaced immediately, the Lower House of the Parliament was told.
MNA Dr Shazia Sobia Aslam Soomro had inquired from the Interior Ministry to state whether it is a fact that garbage boxes placed in certain sectors of Islamabad especially G-7/2, Islamabad are broken and causing pollution; if so, why these are not replaced.
