ASI registers complaint against department’s extortion

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Islamabad Police, Muhammad Ijaz has registered a complaint against police officials of PS Bani Gala for pressurizing him and other colleagues to give gratification money for one or other thing.
In a written complaint addressed to IG Islamabad, Amir Zulfikar the ASI stated that an Head Muharrar and some other officials of the police station have a formed a group and they demand extortion from the colleagues if they want approval for their leaves.
He said the officials who refused their unjustified demands are posted on most difficult places where one even can’t find water to drink.
The ASI in question further stated that things like it are done openly and these personnel got no fear of whatsoever. Moreover, these persons have also formed cordial relations with criminal elements of the area, he stated. He requested the authority to address this issue besides mentioning that he got the rights to approach court of law to get justice but this option would defame the police department.
