The Additional Inspector General of Police and Capital  City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar is again in the limelight for all the wrong reasons and  he is being severely criticized on social media platforms for  his  alleged audio leak with a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).

In his alleged audio leak, CCOP Lahore is talking with the leader of PTI Yasmin Rashid. After exchange of greetings Yasmin Rashid is inquiring from him whether he has received the ‘order.’ Dogar says he hasn’t received the order yet. She again asks him what their attention seems to be. Responding to it, Dogar says the order would be issued from the Supreme Court of Pakistan. “We will get the order as soon as it is issued. Our people are there,” he says.

It seems that Dogar and Yasmin Rashid are talking about reinstatement order of the CCPO and Dogar seems confident that he would secure the order in his favor.  Furthermore Rashid inquiries about something else and perhaps she is referring to possible arrest chances of Imran Khan. To it Dogar says everything would be Okay.

Syed Talat Hussain, a renowned Pakistani journalist in his tweet stated that Dogar’s only responsibility is to keep Imran Khan safe and let his Jail Bharo Tehreek be a successful story. “The judges will monitor it themselves. The next order of the court may be to install “Ghauri” missiles around Zaman Park. Anything is possible,” he further stated in his tweet.

The Supreme Court (SC) had reinstated Ghulam Mahmood Dogar as the Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) after he was suspended by the federal government.

Dogar, was suspended in early November for apparently not ensuring security of the Governor House during a protest by PTI workers against the assassination attempt on former Prime Minister Imran Khan during the long march.

The Governor House officials had written to the chief secretary and Inspector General of Police in which it was stated that a mob had tried to break through the main gate on The Mall, burnt tyres and damaged CCTV cameras.

The capital city police neither took any measure to stop the protesters nor did it register a case against the attackers, the communique of Governor House had maintained.

Earlier alleged audio leak of former Chief Minister of Punjab, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had also created a lot of chaos on the social media in which he was allegedly talking to a lawyer to put a specific petition before a specific judge of the court.

These days there are a lot of audio leaks which are creating quite a scene in the country. However, no one tendered resignation or no one has been shown the door as a result of these audio leaks. The things are where they were before these audio leaks.

Meanwhile, unprecedented and record inflation levels have made the lives of common citizens miserable in Pakistan. So far the common citizens are paying the price of financial mismanagement and misappropriation of national exchequer by the ruling elite.
