SIUT pays tribute to its frontline workers

Rich tributes were paid by Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) to their frontline workers who are attending the patients at Covid 19 services, at a special meeting held here on Friday which was especially arranged to condole the death of a staff nurse who lost her life to Covid 19 while serving the corona patients, stated a press release issued by SIUT.
According to it as a member of front line workers team Ambreen Khalid was serving as a staff nurse in the dedicated ward of Covid 19 of SIUT when she passed away on Sunday last.
Paying tributes to the departed soul at the condolence meeting the Director SIUT Professor Adib Rizvi expressed his heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
While recounting her services he said that the dedication and devotion of Ambreen towards her duties were exemplary.
Prof Rizvi described her as an enthusiastic worker. He said that like elsewhere those who are working in the SIUT have the same fear with the menace of coronavirus but being the true professionals the team members are combating this pandemic emergency with zeal and dedication.
He said that when the Covid 19 broke out in the country, the SIUT responded to the situation and immediately formed a team in mid-March earlier this year and took initiative of providing free of cost quality care to the Covid 19 patients.
Matron Staff Nurse of SIUT Shehnaz in her tributes to Ambreen said she was an outstanding worker who came to SIUT with excellent academic background and later on excelled in all her professional exams.
She informed that on the 13th of this month, she became a patient of Covid 19 when she got severe illness and was admitted at SIUT’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and placed on ventilator where she passed away on Sunday.
On this occasion Prof Zafar Hussain also express their views about the dedication of the staff nurse Ambreen.
The condolence meeting was largely attended by staff members of SIUT who later offered Fateha for the departed soul, concluded the press release.
