RCEM -UK to launch donation campaign in UK for flood relief activities in Pakistan

Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) UK has decided to work with Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) for flood relief activities.

For this purpose Royal College will launch a campaign in UK for collection of donation from members of RCEM.

This donation will be utilized for providing medical relief, food supplies, and living shelter in fold effected areas where RMU teams already working.

Announcement into this connection was made on Sunday when the President, Royal College of Emergency Medicine-UK, Dr Adrian Boyle visited RMU.

He as accompanied by a delegation in which Dr Ayaz abbasi, Dr Asim Ijaz and Mr Andrew were included.

The president Royal College of Emergency was chief guest in a ceremony of certificate distribution for successful trainees of Emergency Medicine Foundation Programme by the royal college of emergency medicine- UK.

The Emergency medicine foundation programme is one year certificate course in specialty of emergency medicine by ROYAL COLLEGE OF EMERGENCY MEDICINE, UK in collaboration with Rawalpindi medical university. This programme is providing an opportunity for capacity building of young doctors regarding management of patients presenting in emergency department of hospitals.

Vice Chancellor Prof Muhammad Umar, Principal Rawalpindi Medical College Prof Jahangir Sarwar Khan and Lead Educational Supervisor for EMFP, Dr Usman Qureshi received the chief guest, Dr Adrian in the RMU. After an interactive session with trainees and supervisors chief guest distributed certificated in a formal ceremony.

The President Royal College of emergency medicine- UK appreciated commitment of university to develop specialty of Emergency Medicine in Pakistan in the public sector hospitals.

During this visit of President RCEM, a MOU will be signed between RMU and RCEM to further enhance cooperation between two institutions for developing specialty of emergency medicine in Pakistan. Dr Adrian will also address students of MBBS and faculty of RMU.
