PCB allows cricketers to play BPL till February 8

Islamabad

A lot of things are happening in Pakistan with regard to much awaited Pakistan Super League 8 (PSL 8) and in bid to make it successful Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is all set to take initiatives like a recent development when the PCB  allowed Pakistani cricket players to play Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) till February 8.

Earlier Pakistani players, who are currently playing BPL, were asked to ensure their return to Pakistan by February 2, stated a few media outlets.

This recent directive of the PCB is relevant to those players who aren’t part of the exhibition match which will be played between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi on February 5. The players who are part of the exhibition match are required to return to Pakistan by February 2.

Prior to the recent decision by the PCB, the players who are part of different teams in BPL, were asked to return to home on February 8.

The decision into this effect is taken on the request of franchises of Pakistan Super League. The first match of PSL will be played on February 13 between Lahore Sultan and Multan Qalandars.

The franchises of PSL want to ensure the return of currently engaged Pakistani players in BPL, 11 days before the start of PSL-8.

A few top Pakistani players of T-20 including Haris Rauf, Muhammad Rizean and a few others are playing in BPL at the moment.

PBC Chairman, Najam Sethi is of the view that it is prescribed right of the cricket body in Pakistan to call back Pakistani players anytime from anywhere. He believes things like it happen all around the world as the national interest may supersede any other engagement of the cricket players.

The opening ceremony of PSL-8 will be held in Multan on February 13, 2023 and the final fixture of the league will be played on March 19.
