Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has waived off the fine which was imposed on national cricketer  Azam Khan for playing with a cricket bat having sticker in support of Palestinian people.

Cricketer Azam Khan was fined for the “crime” of playing with the bat which was having striker of Palestinian flag. While showing sticker of Palestinian flag on his bat he was showing his solidarity with the Palestinian people who are currently facing genocide by the hands of Israeli military forces.

While doing so he was not the alone player in the world as many other renowned players of other different games have expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people in way or the other. However, Azam Khan was imposed fine by the match officials but now this fine has been removed by the PCB after facing a lot of criticism across the board in the country.

Karachi Whites player Azam Khan was fined 50% of the match fee by the match officials for violating PCB’s code of conduct during the National T20 Cup match against Lahore Blues at the National Bank Stadium.

It was reported that Azam Khan had violated some article of the PCB’s Code of Conduct and had failed to comply with the Code of Conduct despite being directed by an umpire.

The name of the official who had imposed the fine has not yet been revealed.

There are social media reports that the person in question may be a “candidate” for the “IPL” and at the same time it is also being expressed that he will not be able to get a job over there.

Meanwhile there are many citizens who believe that imposition of fine on Azam Khan reflects lowly thinking on the part of the officials of the said match. They are of the view that when great football players can do everything in support of Palestine, how do these small tournaments count?

Earlier Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan had also strongly criticized the move of imposition of fine on Azam Khan. He was of the view that imposition of fine on Azam Khan for having striker on his bat in favour of Palestinian people had hurt the sentiment of Pakistani people. Senator Mushtaq Ahmad had also demanded strict action against the persons who were involved in this practice.

Cricketer Azam Khan is a prolific batsman and a handy wicketkeeper who is generally known in the country for his powerful hitting in the cricket matches.

Azam Khan who is the son of former captain of Pakistan cricket team Moin Khan is best remembered for his stylish and powerful hitting in the matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
