On the scene: – Writer Khawaja Muhammad Aazam remembered

Photo-Journalist, Painter, Poet, Writer and Human Rights Activist Khawaja Muhamnad Aazam was paid glowing tributes for his creative works by the writers and scholars, during a virtual remembering reference.

The meeting attendees while condoling the death of Khawaja Muhammad Aazam said he was unexpectedly passed away on August 17 at a local hospital.

The speakers expressing deep shock and grief over the sad demise of Khawaja Muhammad Aazam, said it caused a great loss to art and literature. They also expressed deep sympathy with the bereaved family and well-wishers of late Khawaja Muhammad Aazam.

The sitting was arranged by Halqa e Arbaabe Zauq (HAZ) Karachi in collaboration with Mummasilaat- E-Asraar (MEA) mentioned that late Khawaja Muhammad Aazam had been acting as HAZ Coordinator and MEA Convener as well.

He designed and made hundreds of flayers, posters, invites and pictures of writers and scholars attending the virtual meetings during the Covid-19 period and the post covid era as well.

Rais Froughe, Dr Xaigham Zaman, Dr Hina  Ambareen Tariq, Dr Ishrat Moin Seema, Anwar Zaheer Rahber, Prifessor Shahnaz Parveen, Dr Shehla Naqvi, Intezar Mehdi Jarchvi, Dr Farhat Zafar, Farhatullah Qureshi, Dr Ishaq Sajid and others shared their memories of the days they spent with the late Khawaja.

It was noted that the late Khawaja was a more talented photographer who held exhibitions of his unique and historic photographs at different galleries in Pakistan and abroad. As a poet he mostly created prose poems for which he was highly appreciated by the writers and the critics.

Rifat Islam Siddiqui observed that late Khawaja had a plan to publish his book but it could not be happened. Upon this Sarwar Gazali responded and announced to publish the poetry collection and other creative stuffs of late Khawaja.

Tariq Rais Froughe presented a poem remembering services of RIP Khawaja, rendered in different fields. Dr Xaighan Zaman recalled that late Khawaja had attended several literary meetings and ‘mushairas’ organized by him (Dr Zaman) at Karachi Gymkhana and at the Staff College of Karachi Port Trust (KPT).

He held the late Khawaja was highly acclaimed for his short poem whenever he recited the same at ‘mushairas’.

Rizwana Fehmi recited some of the poetic lines from the poetry of late Khawaja.

Khalid Moin observed that he has a plan to present a special show at his YouTube Channel namely “Adab o Funoon Nama” in near future.

Faheem Islam Ansari in his concluding remarks said Khawaja Muhammad Aazam was not only a talented and creative painter and poet but a decent human being who would never be forgotten by his admirers and friends.

Those condoled the demise of Khawaja Muhamnad Aazam in their messages included Qadeer Hussain Tanoli, Khalid Danish, Naseem Anjum, Tabbasum Zehra Razvi, Ta’abeer Ali, Naseem Sheikh, Muter Ibanez Sheikh, Dr Shahid Zamir, Abraar Hussain,  Samman Hussain, Ali Sattaish Hussain, Naheed Azmi, Mah Jabeen Asif, Maria Mahwash, Amjad Babur, Majeed Rehmani, Zahid Hussain Jauhari, Kamran Mughal, Gulnaz Mehmood and others.
