Mayor Karachi stresses need to build up pressure on on Kashmir Issue

Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said the government should take further measures besides observing Kashmir Solidarity Day on 5th February.
He urged the government to build up pressure with the help of world Muslim community and gather them on this issue before the time goes out of our hands.
He expressed these views while speaking in a seminar and pictorial exhibition held in the Khaliqdina Hall by Culture and Sports Department of KMC on the Kashmir Solidarity Day on 5th February on Wednesday, stated a press release issued by Media Department of KMC.
Leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference of Jammu and Kashmir Mehmood Sagar, Kashmiri leader Sardar Nazakat Ali, Dr. Rakesh Motiani and others were also present on this occasion besides the senior director coordination Masood Alam, senior director culture and sports Mohammad Imran and the staff of KMC and citizens of Karachi.
Mayor Karachi said that the Kashmiris have given lot of sacrifices, the citizens of Karachi and their elected representatives stands with their Kashmiri brethren, however the policy of world Muslim community was not cleared. This issue could not be solved by statements only and it needs other measures as well.
He also appealed to the youth to send messages to UNO and other world organizations regarding Kashmir issue and use this strong tool of social media in this connection which would definitely yield result.
He said the Pakistan Army has given lot of sacrifices on the border and we salute these sacrifices, however the nation now wants to see a clear policy on this issue.
The leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference of Jammu and Kashmir Mehmood Sagar said that the Kashmiris have so far given sacrifices of around seven lac people in their struggle for self determination since it was launched 72 years ago against the Indian occupation in Kashmir.
He said that the world rules changed after 9/11 and the freedom movement was regarded as terrorism. This rule applied on Muslims only and others were given the liberty to fight for their rights. He called this unfortunate that Indian government made Kashmir part of India and no one raised a voice against this. He also hinted on the possible hanging (death penalty) for Kashmiri leader Yasim Malik and arrest of other Kashmiri leaders by the Indian government.
Sardar Nazakat said that the contribution of youth in the freedom movement was instrumental as Kashmiris are thankful of Pakistanis for showing their sentiments on the Kashmir Solidarity Day.
He however expressed dissatisfaction on the measures taken by the Pakistani government on Kashmir issue. He said that the emergence of a third theory which is Jammu and Kashmir State was dangerous.
Prominent writer Bashir Saddozai said that we need to give the right direction to the struggle for self determination and the Hurriyet Conference have this responsibility to give a clear policy in this connection. He said that the time of taking any U turn was now out. We need to launch maximum diplomatic efforts besides carrying out the resistance movement, concluded the press release
