Islamabad
Pakistani media is generally very active in pursing political matters which which are happening at the moment throughout the country rapidly.
It is doing its best when it is reporting about political movements in the country besides covering other issues in which common citizens have interested.
In the meantime very little is known about Mesothelioma in Pakistan when it comes to mainstream and social media.
Only a few things are reported by the mainstream media to inform the public about Mesothelioma or asbestos and its impact on the lives of common folks. Mainstream media in Pakistan discusses very little about presence of Mesothelioma in Pakistan. Either it may be nowhere over here or there is very little attention towards this issue.
What is Mesothelioma?

Due to Mesothelioma mostly lining of lungs and chest-wall get affected. The symptoms of mesothelioma include shortness of breath due to presence of fluid around the lungs, chest pain, coughing, a swollen abdomen and some others.
This is pertinent to mention here that the mesothelium is a sort of tissue or membrane that composed of simple squamous epithelium. This forms the lining of several body cavities.
How Mesothelioma is caused: According to the medical experts mesothelioma is caused by inhaled asbestos fibers. Asbestos is rated as highly heat-resistant which is also a marvelous electrical insulator.

Extended contact to stuff having asbestos is largely connected to diseases like asbestosis, mesothelioma and asbestos-related lung cancer.
Despite all these factors most of online available material about Mesothelioma in Pakistan suggests that there is need to explore more about it over here.
The mainstream media rarely discuss things like it. There is a story which is online available about Fareed Ahmed who was an engineer by profession and who died at the age 55 due to tongue cancer. He was working at as an engineer at a building and the doctors were of the view that his death was due to asbestos poisoning.
Some studies are also available about mesothelioma in Pakistan but astonishingly no concrete data is available to properly substantiate it.
There is no data available as how much Pakistan import this material. No data is available as how many persons have died over here due to asbestos poisoning.
A website is claiming that Pakistan in the past along with some other countries had blocked an international move which had aimed to ban this substance. However, it also discusses very little as what actually had happened in that summit where Pakistan had blocked this move. There is no mentioning of the person who was representing Pakistan in it.
Little bit of online search would reveal that a lot more needs to be done in this context. The search of required data via online sources is not leading the visitor to make up her/his mind over this matter.
