KSA continues to be prime destination for Pakistani workers

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) accommodated more than 50 percent of jobseeker Pakistanis than other Gulf Countries during the term of recent regime.
During the tenure of present Government (August 2018 to December 2019) 758,242 emigrants have so far been registered for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries through Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BE&OE).
In the mentioned period as per record to Ministry of Overseas Pakistani and Human Resource Development which was shared with the parliamentarians of Lower House of the Parliament, a total of 758,242 Pakistanis emigrants went to the gulf countries for employment during the tenure of the present government.
Out of this figure a total of 381,899 Pakistani nationals went to KSA for employment.
Question in this regard was asked by MNA Romina Khurshid Alam during a session of the National Assembly.
The ministry while quoting figures in this connection of Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment maintained that in the mentioned period a total of 301171 Pakistanis went to United Arab Emirates (UAE), 38709 went to Oman, 27794 to Qatar, 8402 to Bahrain and 267 to Kuwait.
According to some estimates a total of 4.5 million Pakistanis are currently working in Saudi Arabia in different capacities mostly doing unskilled jobs over there.
