Khadim Hussain Rizvi passes away: The founder of a religious political party, Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi passed away on Thursday. He was around sixty.

The TLP spokesman has confirmed his death. According to sources he had severe fever and he was taken to Shaikh Zayed Hospital in Lahore for treatment. According to these sources later on he developed cardiac issues which proved fatal and he passed away.

A few years back Khadim Rizvi was rather an unknown figure in the political landscape of the country.

He used to perform his duty in the Auqaf Department of Government of Punjab. In his comparatively unknown years, he used to give Juma Khutab in one of the mosques of Lahore.

He came into the limelight after speaking in the favor of Mumtaz Qadri, the gunman who killed the then Governor of Punjab, Salman Taseer. In return, the Punjab government forcefully dismissed him from his government job.

Since, then, Khadim Hussain Rizvi became a well-known blasphemy activist and started touring several parts of Pakistan to gather support and following everywhere for his cause. As a result of these activities he received enormous following and support from the masses.

Khadim Hussain Rizvi belonged to District Attock of Punjab Province. He was Hafiz-e-Quran and also he held the title of the Sheikh-ul-Hadith.

Just a few days ago he had organized another sit-in at the Faizabad Interchange, Islamabad against blasphemous activities in France which ended only when an accord was signed by the government of Pakistan in which it made commitment to pursue this matter.

News about Khadim Rizvi’s as being alive turns false: There were some social media posts and videos which had suggested that Khadim Rizvi’s breathing has been restored.

However, later on these news turned false and it was announced publically that he was no more in this mortal world.

PM Imran Khan expresses condolences over Khadim Rizvi’s death: Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has expressed his condolences over the death of Khadim Hussain Rizvi. In a tweet on Thursday he said: “On the passing of Maulana Khadim Hussain Rizvi my condolences go to his family. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”
