Establishing Walk Street ordered inside Shri Swami Temple
Administrator Karachi felicitates Hindu Community on the occasion of Nowatri Festival

Administrator Karachi Iftikhar Ali Shallwani on Wednesday issued directives to establish walk street inside Shri Swami Temple which is more than two century old place for worship for the Hindu Community in Karachi.
Shri Swami temple was established 216 years ago and religious events take place here of the community.
Administrator Karachi Iftikhar Ali Shallwani said that minorities in Pakistan have equal rights according to 1973 Constitution, stated a press release issued by Media Department of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).
“We all are Pakistanis and our country is a bunch of flowers where people belonging to every religion and caste are striving for prosperity and development of Pakistan.
We wish Hindu community on their festival Nowatri and they can fulfil their religious obligations. We would facilitate them,” the Administrator passed these remarks while visting temple at Soldier Bazar.
SSP East Junaid Ahmed, Mufti Faisal Japan Wala, Shafiq Kanwal, Deepak and Maharaj were also present on the occasion.
The administrator was told that Shri Swami temple was established 216 years ago and their religious events are held here. “It is the oldest worship place of Hindu community in Karachi,” he was informed.
Shallwani also visited a road inside the temple and passed directives for establishing Walk Street.
Mufti Faisal Japan Wala said that Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and Christians are united under Pakistan’s flag and they cannot be divided on basis of religion. Everyone would continue playing its part for protection and prosperity of Pakistan.
Maharaj of the temple expressed gratitude to administrator for visiting the temple. He said that Nowatri festival is observed for nine days and Hindu community visit their worship places.
The administrator said that the KMC is with Hindu community in their festival and would provide all possible civic facilities to them. He said that a large number of Hindus are serving at KMC and serving the masses.
