PDM announces protest in front of Supreme Court: Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has announced to hold a protest demonstration on Monday in front of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) against unjust behavior of the apex court.
Announcement into this connection was made by the chief of PDM, Maulana Fazlur Rahman shortly after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan interim bail for two weeks in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
While talking to the media the PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that the Supreme Court is the mother of law, not the mother in law. He said a big protest will be held in front of the Supreme Court on Monday.
He said that the PDM has decided to protest against the behavior of the Supreme Court and he appealed to the entire nation to attend this protest demonstration.
The PDM chief added that the court is protecting terrorism and criminals, the Supreme Court has protected embezzlement, encouraged embezzlement and embezzlers.
He said that today the High Court has also given a verdict that no action should be taken against Imran Khan in any case registered after the events that happened after May 9.
This is pertinent to mention here that former premier Imran Khan was arrested on May 9 following issuance of his arrest warrant in Al-Qadir Trust Case.
After his arrest the entire country has been in the grip of violent protest demonstrations in which even the most sensitive places were targeted by the protesting mob.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the court stated that Imran Khan should not be arrested in any case, even if he should not be arrested in the case which is not in his (Imran Khan’s) knowledge.
He said that just imagine how the judiciary is giving decisions beyond the constitution and law.
He said that was this concession given to three-time elected Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and he even was not given the facility to make a telephone call to inquire about the well-being of his ailing wife.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman asked whether this kind of concession was given to Maryam Nawaz and Faryal Talpur.
He said that today Imran Khan is being given VVIP protocol, the security agencies of the state are being insulted today.
The PDM chief further said that it has been decided that now there will be a protest against the behavior of the Supreme Court, a huge dharna (sit-in) will be held in front of the Supreme Court on Monday.
He said that now it will tit for tat policy and a befitting response should be given.
Meanwhile Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has also announced its participation in the protest demonstration of PDM which is supposed to be held in front of the apex court on Monday.
Moreover, the internet connection was finally restored in Pakistan on Friday evening which was shut on May 9, after the arrest of Imran Khan.
There are reports that the telecom sector has already suffered losses up to the tune of Rs3 billion after shutting down the internet in Pakistan.
Imran Khan has been released on the directives of the Islamabad High Court and now the citizens of Pakistan may also enjoy internet services.
The businesses which heavily rely on the internet suffered badly due to its shutting down. Moreover the citizens also remained deprived to make contacts with others through WhatsApp which has become an affordable mode of communication.
