Rawalpindi- Two accused involved in serious crime escape from lockup

Two co-accused involved in kidnapping for ransom case broke up lockup of Airport Police Station and escaped during early morning of Monday.
These accused were on physical remand and under the custody of the Airport Police Station. They were booked under the serious crime charges of kidnapping the son of a restaurant’s son and demanding ransom for him.
After happening of this incident CPO Muhammad Ahsan Younas took notice of it and SSP Investigation Muhammad Faisal along with SP Potohar Syed Ali paid visit to the crime scene.
Two accused namely Basit and Hammad were in police custody after being remanded in lockup along with two other accused. However, Basit and Hammad broke up the lock-up and escaped.
The police authorities have constituted teams to conduct raids for the arrest of these accused. Meanwhile Moharrar, Umar along with another police personnel of the police station have been arrested too.
The area is being searched and matter is being investigated thoroughly, police claimed. Moreover, strict legal action should also be taken against the police personnel whose negligence caused this incident. Similarly investigation should also be taken as who else was involved in this incident, SP Potohar, Syed Ali stated.
